# A practical wine cellar maintenance plan

Build a model-specific service plan and record faults before they threaten the collection.

A cellar needs an owner as well as an installer. Put the equipment manual, installer contact and emergency plan in a place the household can find. Use the maintenance schedule for the exact model. Do not use a generic interval for every cooling system.

## Create the baseline at handover

Ask the installer to record the set point, room readings, adjacent conditions and operating behaviour. Keep sensor locations on the plan. Check that doors close and seals meet. Ask how to read alarms and where water should drain.

Have the technician show which items the owner may clean. Keep service clearances open. Do not let new cabinets or stored cases block an intake or outlet. Label the circuit and tell the household who can isolate it safely.

## Watch for changes

Record unusual noise, water, longer running, repeated alarms and a door that no longer seals. Compare readings from the same locations. Do not change several controls at once. Photograph a fault and send the exact model and error message to the service team.

WhisperKOOL treats cellar construction and ventilation as part of cooling performance. A fault may involve the enclosure, surrounding heat or airflow as well as the unit. Ask the technician to investigate the cause before replacing equipment.

## Plan for absence and failure

Test the agreed alarm contact route before travel. Name a local person who can inspect the room. Keep security and access details out of public listing enquiries. Ask a professional storage provider about emergency transfer conditions before there is a fault.

Review insurance with the insurer. Confirm what records it needs and whether equipment failure, power loss or transport have different terms. Store an inventory backup separately from the cellar. An app can help locate bottles, but it does not replace equipment monitoring or a service contract.

## Questions

### How often should my cooling system be serviced?

Use the schedule for the exact model and agree owner cleaning tasks with the installer. Record alarms, water, unusual noise and changes in running behaviour for the service team.
