# Wine cellar costs: US, Canada, UK and Australia

Compare published construction, wine room and equipment prices with their scope and exclusions.

There is no useful single price for every custom wine room. Compare the work included before comparing the amount. The sources below were fetched on 2026-10-29. These are published examples, not quotes for a listed business or a ceiling on a luxury project.

For an Australian underground comparison, Signature Cellars lists starting prices of AUD 75,000 plus GST for its Original Spiral Cellar and AUD 80,000 plus GST for its White Cellar. Both examples use the depth stated on the source page. The work assumes a pre-excavated hole. Excavation and third-party costs such as planning, engineering and flooring are excluded. These are starting prices for distinct products, not a complete installed price band.

The Canadian prices use the CAD currency metadata on the product pages. No complete Canadian custom-room price range was established from these pages. Rosehill's custom cellar page says it provides individual quotes. Likewise, the UK product range does not establish a national bespoke build range. Get local proposals rather than converting a US range and calling it local market evidence.

## Turn the brief into comparable quotes

Ask each vendor to separate design, survey, structure, enclosure, glazing, racking, cooling, electrical work, drainage, freight, approvals and tax. Identify the party doing each task. If another contractor supplies an excluded item, include that amount in your overall budget.

A large glass area, difficult delivery route or remote condenser can change the work. Ask the installer to price the actual layout. Do not choose cooling capacity from room volume or bottle count alone. WhisperKOOL's calculator asks about insulation and conditions outside the room as well as its surfaces.

## Keep the budget honest

Record currency and quotation date beside every amount. Separate a fixed price from an allowance. Ask how substitutions and variations are approved. Use the budget tool to add quoted items and your own contingency choice. It does not supply an assumed vendor price.

For Ireland, New Zealand, the UAE, Switzerland, Singapore and Hong Kong, this guide does not claim a verified local price range. Ask a provider serving the property for a scoped quote. Check import costs, local support and approval responsibilities before ordering equipment from another market.
