# Enclosure and cooling as one system

WhisperKOOL's construction guide covers ventilation, framing, vapour control, insulation, doors and finishes. It treats the enclosure and the cooling as linked decisions. A cooling unit cannot correct a poorly sealed room by itself.

## Mark every item

Ask the builder to mark each item as included, excluded or supplied by another trade. Put each excluded item under a named party.

## Heat load

The heat load is the amount of heat that the cooling system must remove. WhisperKOOL's online calculator asks about the room surfaces, the insulation and the conditions next to and outside the room. Use those inputs to talk to an installer. Do not choose cooling from room volume or bottle count alone.

## Cooling types

WhisperKOOL lists self-contained, ductless split, fully ducted and ducted split systems. Ask the installer which type the quote uses and why.

## Ask about the exact model

CellarPro's website separates cooling families and offers buying guides, sizing tables and technical documents. Ask for the current document for the exact model. Ask the installer to check:

- ambient operating limits;
- electrical supply;
- drainage;
- service access;
- local support.

A brand name alone does not confirm the right application. If a model changes, review the load, the clearances and the warranty before you accept it.

## Questions to put in writing

- Who calculates the heat load, and what conditions do they assume outside each surface?
- Where does the rejected heat go?
- Where does the condensate drain, and how can someone inspect it?
- Where will noise be heard outside the cellar?
- Can a technician remove the unit without taking apart the rack or the glass?

Ask for the exact model, its electrical needs and a written service route for faults. A claim that a unit is quiet needs a stated test condition and location.
